Early Intervention
Early Intervention is a collection of supports and services available to infants and toddlers from birth to 3 years of age who either have a significant delay or are at high risk for developmental delay based on know physical or mental conditions. Some of the supports and services included in Early Intervention are physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy, vision therapy and hearing therapy, and developmental specialist services. Anyone can make a referral by contacting the appropriate local agency listed below. The services are provided free of charge for qualified children.
Head Start
Head Start and Early Head Start offer development programs for children from birth to 5 years old from low income families. The website gives information on how to apply to Head Start and has a locator to help find a program in your area.
