Safe Haven-Department of Public Welfare

Provides a safe option for new mothers not ready for motherhood and their newborn babies—with no questions asked. Young women can take comfort in knowing they don’t need to abandon their babies because there is a safe alternative. All hospitals in Pennsylvania are safe havens for newborn babies as long as the baby is unharmed and under 28 days old. No one will ask who is dropping off the child or where they live. No one needs to know the woman was pregnant or that the baby was even delivered. Help is also available during the pregnancy. A confidential phone number (listed below) is available to explore all options and find additional services.

Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) Program-Department of Health

Provides free and confidential testing for sexually transmitted diseases such as Chlamydia, HIV, gonorrhea, and syphilis. Also provides treatment, education, surveillance, and resources to prevent and intervene in the transmission of STDs.
