A kid-friendly parent group that provides information and networking for local families. Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York (Manhattan&Bronx)
Services include counseling, help in getting benefits, emergency financial aid for rent, utility bills, transportation, food, and clothes. Specific problems such as unplanned pregnancy, substance abuse, mental health, childcare, domestic violence, health care, job training, and immigration issues are handled by this group’s agencies and programs. The staff will meet in person or consult by phone.

Fatherhood Initiative Program
offers free parenting workshops to all fathers at locations throughout Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens&Manhattan. Also offers free relationship skills workshops for couples. Participants receive incentives for attendance and completion of workshops. Program can be presented to schools, daycare centers, churches, and social services agencies. New York Foundling Hospital:
Offers family-centered preventive services to help the entire family, among them classes to teach parents and single mothers to care for their new babies and help for parents to overcome addictions and provide for the emotional and physical needs of their families. Nurse-Family Partnership
a free program for women having their first baby. A qualified, specially trained nurse will visit an expecting mother's home throughout her pregnancy and continue to visit until the baby is two years old. Nurses help ensure a healthy pregnancy and baby; help babyproof the home; obtain referrals to other support services; model effective parenting skills. Women who are pregnant with their first baby and who are less than 28 weeks pregnant are eligible. The program is now available in Harlem, East New York, Astoria, Coney Island, Staten Island, and the Lower East Side.
