ALLEGHENY REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CENTER
Allegheny Reproductive Health Center was established in 1975 to provide quality health care in a warm, supportive atmosphere. Their services include abortion, emergency contraception, birth control, free pregnancy testing, treatment for sexually transmitted diseases and routine gynecological exams. Allegheny Reproductive is a private health center approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Their staff consists of board-certified gynecologists, nurses and nurse practitioners, technicians and counselors. They have phone counselors on hand daily to answer questions regarding their services and reproductive options.

GENESIS OF PITTSBURGH, INC.
A maternity care, adoption and social service agency committed to providing a complete spectrum of programs and services for those facing an unplanned pregnancy. They also provide housing, education, counseling and supplies needed by expectant mothers, including formula, baby clothing, cribs, etcÂ…free of charge. Finally, they provide a toll-free hotline, staffed 365 days/yr, for those who need more information regarding their services.

HEALTHY START
This program of the Allegheny County Health Department, is designed to identify a broad range of community-driven strategies and interventions that reduce infant mortality and the incidences of low weight births. It focuses on six areas in Allegheny County with historically high rates of infant mortality: North Side, Center City, East End, Wilkensburg, South Side and the Western Communities. Healthy Start uses community resources to increase access to services (i.e. childcare) to help alleviate typical barriers to care, increase availability of WIC and nutrition counseling services, providing transportation to prenatal visits and much more.

A support group for young mothers. The group meets on demand, so please call for dates and times. Meets at the Pregnancy Care Center in Wexford.

PREGNANT AND PARENTING TEEN OUTREACH
This comprehensive program promotes success, strengthens families and decreases infant mortality and subsequen pregnancy rates among teen mothers. Outreach workers provide home visits, psychosocial support, prenatal and parenting education, and support groups for all involved, including teen fathers and parents of teens.
