City of Rockford Human Services Department - Head Start
Provides services to children ages birth to three years old and pregnant women. Program options include: (1) Center-based pre-school, part day and full day; (2) Child care through local partners; (3)Home-based services. Eligibility for Head Start services is based on family income. The program strives to maximize a child’s strengths and provide a rich environment by providing each child a variety of successful experiences. The Department of Children and Family Services is best known for its child protection services. Easter Seals - Family Support Services
Family Support Services provides a variety of information and support services to help families of children with disabilities. Assistance from staff is unique to each family and is based on the family’s needs and priorities for their child. Services may include parent support groups including Northwest IL Autism Support Group, Ogle County Autism Support Group, Down syndrome Support Group, and Family Support Information Group, as well as parent trainings, consultation, and technical assistance. Services can be provided in the family’s home or another location convenient for the family.

Easter Seals - Prevention Initiative

MELD Young Moms and Dads Parenting Support Groups
MELD provides programs for young mothers, young fathers and their children through our MELD Moms and Dads parenting and support groups. Families come together to discuss parenting issues and to share ideas with each other. The groups meet weekly at local churches and in local high schools.
