St. Louis Public Library
Resources are offered for students, tutors, teachers and parents in a wide variety of areas including Youth Services, Adult Education, English as a Second Language and Community Connection. All branches offer literacy resources and information, including children and adult first-readers, parenting books on literacy and literacy tutoring instruction books.

International Institute
Specialized instruction in English for Speakers of Other Languages is provided to more than 3,000 annually. Classes also provide literacy, general education, basic computer training, prevocational, citizenship, GED and TOEFL preparation. Classes are offered mornings, afternoons and evenings with open enrollment and exit.

St. Louis Public Schools Adult Education and Literacy Free classes
St. Louis Public Schools Adult Education and Literacy Free classes are offered in adult basic education, GED preparation, family literacy, academic upgrade, English for Speakers of Other Languages, workplace literacy and life skills instruction and SkillsTutor.com. The program serves seven school districts: Ferguson-Florissant, Hancock Place, Jennings, Normandy, Riverview Gardens, St. Louis City and Wellston.

LIFT-Missouri

Literacy Investment for Tomorrow (LIFT) develops and promotes resources to increase the literacy skills of Missourians. Services include training and on-site technical assistance for educators and tutors; accessible resources for teachers, tutors and program administrators; and teaching parents to be involved with their children's schools.

Missouri Humanities Council

The Missouri Humanities Council offers a literacy program called READ from the START, which is a family reading program geared to parents and caregivers of children ages 0-5. Not-for-profit organizations working with "at-risk" families may apply to host READ from the START. Fifteen to twenty families participate in each two-session program.
