AmeriCorps is a network of local, state, and national service programs that connects more than 70,000 Americans each year in intensive service to meet our country’s critical needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment. AmeriCorps members address critical needs in communities throughout America by tutoring and mentoring disadvantaged youth, fighting illiteracy, improving health services, building affordable housing, teaching computer skills, cleaning parks and streams. Educational awards and living stipends are provided for the year of service.

The Youth Emergency Service Program is Epworth's crisis care program and emergency shelter. Short-term housing and therapeutic support are provided for young people who need an immediate safe place to live because of abuse, neglect, homelessness or family conflict. YES is open 24/7 year around and can be reached through an emergency Helpline 24 hours daily, 365 days a year, to assist families and teens in crisis.
