Advocacy Definition

The process of asserting oneself or interceding on behalf of others within a system to get the benefits for which they are eligible. Through both direct aid to families and broader-based policy work, the goal of advocacy is to foster the self-empowerment of families by educating them about their own rights.

Supporting Opportiunies with Teens
One-stop, drop-in center for youth (ages 13-24) that provides testing for HIV and sexually transmitted diseases, health care and counseling, social support, prevention and case management services at no cost. Physicians available Monday-Friday afternoons from 1pm - 5pm.

Mission Statement

The mission of The Children's Advocacy Project (CAP) is to help bridge the gap between the many quality social service agencies in the St Louis area and the families that need their help the most. To bridge this gap, we aim to empower and to inform those that care for the children of St Louis through this web site. The CAP will assist families, health care professionals, and social service providers by furnishing the tools necessary to connect families in need to the appropriate social service agencies that serve them.
