Reach Out And Read
Reach out and Read is a national non-profit organization that promotes early literacy by giving new books to children in pediatric exam rooms across the country. The organization also emphasizes to parents the importance of reading aloud to children to promote children's developmental skills and success in school.

Libraries throughout York County offer story times for all ages, some even starting at birth. Your child can listen, learn, make crafts and maybe even read to a fuzzy pal. Most story times do require pre-registration, but this is no charge for the story time.

The York County Literacy Council provides literacy services to adults of York County. Programs include english as a second laguage, adult reading programs to help improve reading, writing, spelling, book clubs, computer aided classes, and tutoring. Some programs require registration.
