Some examples are nor&#8217;easters, severe storms with flooding, and power outages.<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>Learn how to prepare and what resources are at your disposal:<\/strong><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>Find a Safe Place to Go<\/strong><br \/>\nVisit a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/egateway.fema.gov\/ESF6\/DRCLocator\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Disaster Recovery Center (DRC)<\/a><\/strong> to talk with someone in person for guidance or information. To find a center near you, use the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/egateway.fema.gov\/ESF6\/DRCLocator\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DRC Locator<\/a><\/strong> or text DRC and your ZIP code to 43362. <em>Example:<\/em> DRC 10029.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>Disaster Relief Resources and Temporary Sheltering Assistance<\/strong><br \/>\n\u25ba You can apply <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.disasterassistance.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online<\/a><\/strong> or with the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fema.gov\/about\/news-multimedia\/mobile-app-text-messages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FEMA App<\/a><\/strong> to manage your disaster application. Your Social Security Number (SSN) is required.<br \/>\n\u25ba If you are eligible for Transitional Sheltering Assistance, FEMA will pay the cost to stay in certain lodging providers for a limited period. Costs covered are for the cost of the room and taxes, and any other expenses are not included.
