Programs are located in more than 400 parks, recreation centers, and public schools across New York City.<\/p>\n<p>Middle schoolers can participate in the CityParks Afterschool programs by registering until March 1st, 2021. Two programs are available <strong>(Greens Girl &amp; Coastal Classroom)<\/strong>. Read the programs&#8217; details below.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u25ba <a href=\"https:\/\/cityparksfoundation.org\/green-girls\/\">GREEN GIRL BY ING AFTERSCHOOL<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nThe CityParks Green Girls Empowered by ING After School program is an environmental science club that will engage middle school girls throughout the school year in fun-filled weekly online adventures about New York City\u2019s parks and waterways, encouraging them to realize their potential to create change within the natural environment.<\/p>\n<p>This spring\u2019s program will feature hands-on, at-home science experiments like water-quality testing, virtual trips to the earth\u2019s atmosphere and underwater to study the effects of climate change, and interactive group activities. Students will dive deep into the waters with virtual field trips to local coastal parks like Kaiser Park in Coney Island and Conference House Park on Staten Island\u2019s southernmost point. Through interactive digital lessons, students will learn about the wondrous species inhabiting our coasts, with topics like our food chain and marine adaption.
