Levels of 10 ug\/dL have been associated with harmful effects on children&#8217;s learning and behavior. Ingestion of dust generated by deteriorating lead-based paint (LBP) and renovations of surfaces containing LBP is the leading cause of childhood lead poisoning.  Approximately 45% of Pennsylvania housing was built prior to 1950 and is likely to contain LBP.
