Green and Healthy Homes<\/strong>
\nThe City of San Antonio\u2019s Green and Healthy Homes (SAGHH) provides assistance to owners and landlords of residential properties (both single-family and multi-family ) in creating healthy, safe, energy-efficient and sustainable homes for families and children. The SAGHH is working to prevent and correct housing-related health and safety hazards, such as addressing lead-based paint, household asthma triggers and fire hazards.<\/p>\n

Eligibility<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. House must be built prior to 1978; AND<\/li>\n
  2. House must be located within the City of San Antonio; AND<\/li>\n
  3. A child age 5 and under must reside in the home or spend at least 6 hours per week in the home; AND<\/li>\n
  4. Have a clear title to property; AND<\/li>\n
  5. Must be current with property taxes; AND<\/li>\n
  6. Household must meet HUD established Income Guidelines for families earning 80% or below of Area Median Income.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation<\/strong>
    \nAssists low- to moderate-income homeowners to rehabilitate their substandard and non-code compliant residential properties by providing deferred forgivable loans to cover the cost of the needed repairs.<\/p>\n

    Under 1 Roof
    \n<\/strong>Replaces worn and damaged roofs with new, energy-efficient roofs for qualified homeowners.<\/p>\n

    \n<\/strong>This non-profit organization restores homes for elderly & disabled low income residents. Home repairs can range from roofing & dry wall repair to subflooring installation & painting.

    Casa Verde SA\/Weatherization (City Public Service, CPS)<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Weatherization assistance program\u00a0 assist low-income homeowners & renters by installing upgrades that increase the energy efficiency of their houses & reduce utility bills. Partnership between the City of San Antonio & CPS Energy. Houses must be structurally sound. Casa Verde SA is NOT a home repair program. Administered by CPS Energy and uses local contractors & energy auditors to complete the work. Attic\/wall insulation, caulking, weatherstripping, solar screens.

    \n<\/strong>Services provided by alcohol & drug recovery persons with disabilities. No lawn services, only trees. Services in San Antonio, Austin, & surrounding communities.

    Rebuilding Together San Antonio
    \n<\/strong>501C3 Charity dedicated to the repair & rehabilitation of homes of military veterans & their families, the poor, elderly, & disabled. General repairs done by volunteers on the Annual Home Repair Workday in selected neighborhoods.
