These services include rides to doctor&#8217;s office, dentist&#8217;s office, hospital, drug store or any place that provides covered health care services.<\/p>\n<p>Types of rides include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Public transportation, like the city bus.<\/li>\n<li>A taxi or van service.<\/li>\n<li>Commercial transit, like a bus or plane, to go to another city for an appointment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Services may also include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Money for gas.<\/li>\n<li>Meals and lodging for children and youth 20 and younger staying overnight to get covered health care services.<\/li>\n<li>Payment for some out-of-state travel to neighboring states (Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Services do not include making arrangements for emergency or nonemergency transportation by ambulance. If you have a Car but not money for Gas there are also options through this program!<\/p>\n<h2>Can I get a ride?<\/h2>\n<p>To get a ride, you must be enrolled in one of the following programs and not have any other means of transportation<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.texas.gov\/services\/health\/medicaid-chip\">Medicaid<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.texas.gov\/node\/176731\">Children with Special Health Care Needs<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.texas.gov\/node\/237891\">Transportation for Indigent Cancer Patients<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.texas.gov\/services\/health\/medicaid-chip\/medicaid-chip-members\/medical-transportation-program\">https:\/\/www.hhs.texas.gov\/services\/health\/medicaid-chip\/medicaid-chip-members\/medical-transportation-program<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nonemergency medical transportation services are available for Medicaid beneficiaries or their child.
