Huckleberry House

Serves: At-Risk Youth, Teens, and Young Adults
Helps Central Ohio youth ages 12-24 who are dealing with issues like family conflict, violence, poverty, and homelessness. Programs include:

  • Teen Crisis Program & Shelter: Provides emergency shelter as a safe alternative to the streets for young people ages 12-17. Crisis stabilization and counseling services are provided during your stay.

  • Housing/Transitional Living Program: Provides safe housing for individuals ages 17-21 for 12-18 months. The program includes building independent living skills, mental health support, education and employment counseling, parenting support, and help finding permanent housing. They also provide fully furnished apartments for young survivors of domestic violence through who are referred from partner organizations.

  • Youth Outreach Program (YOP)/YOP Shop: Serves ages 12-24 with access to food, health, and hygiene items, support with school or finding a job, help with transportation, help obtaining documents such as ID or birth certificate, guidance with life skills, and connections to community resources.

  • The Counseling Center: Provides individual or family counseling from licensed mental health therapists to help navigate family conflict, difficult emotions, life transitions, gender identity, relationships, and more. They accept Medicaid, most insurance plans, and self-pay.
