Supports Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander communities in Central Ohio. They focus on East, Southeast, South Asian and Pacific Islander communities but assist individuals regardless of ethnic or racial background. Healthy Asian Youth (HAY) provides after-school and summer programming for low-income families. They offer free or low-cost classes for adults for ESL, Citizenship, and cultural arts. They also offer a Family Support Program for victims of crime, outreach for seniors ages 60+, and interpreting and translation services. The Asian Health Initiative (AHI) provides free, culturally and linguistically appropriate health screenings and services for those living under 250% of the Federal Poverty Level.

BOLD Girl Collective (Formerly Brown Girls Mentoring)

Provides mentoring and empowerment programs for girls grades K-9 to build confidence, self-awareness, resiliency, character development, and sisterhood. They focus on girls from historically marginalized communities to help every girl recognize her inherent value. The group mentoring program includes guest speakers, social-emotional learning, and fun activities. Family participation is encouraged. The group meets weekly for 6-week sessions held September through April at various Columbus Parks and Recreation Community Centers. Enrollment begins each July through the Columbus Parks and Recreation website. There is a small fee for each 6-week session, and families may apply for a PLAY Scholarship for fee assistance. BOLD Girl Collective also hosts community-wide events throughout the year for girls of all ages.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Ohio

Provides nationally acclaimed after-school and summer programming for youth ages 5-18. Programs are oriented around Academic Success, Character & Leadership, Mental Health & Wellbeing, and Life & Workforce Readiness. Club members have access to tutoring, sports, career-readiness opportunities, leadership opportunities, and mentoring. The CLUB is an inclusive, after school drop-off space for teens ages 13-18, and offers additional programs just for teens. Central Community House and TRANSIT ARTS

Community center serving the Near East neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. They can help families navigate resources to get help with food, healthcare, employment and housing. Columbus Chess Club & Royal Oak Initiative (ROI)

Helps underserved youth develop critical thinking, stewardship, leadership, and have fun through chess. They offer free Chess Clubs, a 10-12 week ROC Academy program, and workshops at various schools, libraries, and community organizations. ROC Clubs receive supplies, training, and ongoing support from ROI to launch and maintain weekly chess clubs and leadership activities. Provides a variety of free, educational programs for youth and families to increase employability and encourage civic involvement. Directions for Youth & Families (DFYF)

Program: Offers mental and behavioral health services for youth and families. Licensed social workers and counselors provide counseling and clinical treatment programs addressing a range of issues including school concerns, sexual abuse, delinquency, domestic violence, family conflict, substance abuse and mental health issues. They also offer parenting classes, free kindergarten readiness programs, and after-school and summer programs at their two youth centers.
Eligibility: Varies per program, serves those from 6 weeks old up to 21 years old.

This teaching garden is located in the Hilltop neighborhood of Columbus. They offer garden tours, field trip experiences and donation-based produce bags for pick-up. A faith-based organization serving individuals and families in Columbus. Transitional housing is available for previously incarcerated women, low-income families and individuals, and women struggling with substance use. Offers a variety of sport-based positive youth development programs for elementary, middle, and high school youth. They offer free sports clinics for youth throughout the year. Offers skilled trades programs to empower youth in Columbus. Common Cent$ is a 5-week financial literacy and entrepreneurship workshop for high schoolers, held after school. TRiO Upward Bound is a free program for income-eligible high school students to prepare for college applications and academics. Provides affordable housing and supportive services for families and women who may be recovering from addiction and mental illnesses. The YWCA Family Center provides emergency shelter, meals, childcare, and employment help for families without housing.
